Resiliency

Strengthening communities and ecosystems to withstand the changes caused by climate-related disasters and shifting landscapes

Building resiliency involves a comprehensive approach that spans various sectors and scales. It includes implementing climate-proof infrastructure solutions, adopting sustainable agricultural practices, protecting and restoring natural ecosystems that act as buffers against climate impacts, and fostering community-based adaptation strategies.

Adaptation

Reimagine how we work, live, and govern to navigate the consequences of climate change and discover improved ways of living in an environment that’s constantly evolving.

To adapt to climate change, we may need to enhance early detection through improved surveillance, how we deliver services including telemedicine and mobile clinics for affected areas, and develop robust distribution networks that can withstand extreme weather events. This involves integrating climate data into public health planning, expanding healthcare infrastructure resilience, and prioritizing equitable access to healthcare services across diverse communities.

Mitigation

Develop strategies to slow, reduce, or prevent the emission of greenhouse gases and other harmful impacts on the environment.

Mitigating our impact on the climate may include new technologies and renewable energies, making older equipment more energy efficient, and/or changing consumer behavior.
