At Pyro-degrade Energy we've developed a technology to produce pyro-diesel from plastic waste. Pyro-diesel is an environmentally friendly diesel substitute for stationary diesel engines - it is almost sulphur free and has a low carbon footprint. We’ve designed our processor to be self-sufficient - able to run off-grid powered by the fuel it produces. Our efficient production process means that we are able to supply pyro-diesel at a lower cost than conventional diesel.

Trackable electronic walking cane, VISCANE is an inclusive IoT digital assistant mobility aid for people with visual impairment (PVI) to help them detect nearby obstacles ahead in 60-200cm before hitting them, as main sensitivity. It also helps users to get weather information and provide trackable GPS/GNSS (geofencing) coordinates, helping them to be found when lost or when the cane is stolen. Day and night recognition with magnetometer capability of the cane helps them walking safely, to avoid hazardous situations, with data privacy pairable to smart phone via Bluetooth, hence solving accidents related issues to these PVIs, with light reflective foldable stainless less-weight aluminium tubes and traffic lights.
Simbona UV sterilizer machines are a cost-effective, safer disinfection approach that uses infrared technology, motion detection, and air quality detecting systems Simbona UV disinfection technology remove any microorganisms from surface of material and air with in less than 10 minutes. Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet (ultraviolet C or UVC) light to kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions. They are also environmentally friendly and chemical-free. This form of sanitation eliminates pollution and other negative effects associated with chemical disinfection.
MamaOpe is a non-invasive tool designed to accurately and automatically screen for respiratory diseases with a special focus on pneumonia in low resource settings using patient vitals. The tool lights green and displays the values when the age-adjusted breathing rate is within the WHO normal range and the lung sounds are normal. Its clinical decision support functionality provides instant feedback, to support the care provider in determining a correct diagnosis, based on the WHO IMCI guidelines. The patient data is uploaded to the cloud for remote consultation or telemedicine applications.
Laparoscopic surgery is the standard of care for most cancer keyhole incisions in high-income countries (HICs). It avoids large incisions by using a tiny camera and fine instruments manipulated through keyhole incisions, but is generally unavailable in low- and middle-income countries. Each operating room requires a laparoscope, viewing monitors and related equipment (~$215,000 for purchase). Laparoscopic surgery is rarely accessible in LMICs due to high cost of installation, lack of qualified maintenance personnel, unreliable electricity, and shortage of consumable supplies. To address this unmet need, we developed and conducted safety tests for our patent pending low-cost and durable laparoscopic system - ReadySuite ($500 bill of material) for use in Africa.
The Ubuntu WaterHub is a Kenyan innovation meant to solve revenue collection at water points. This innovation uses both cellular and Satellite IoT technology and can be used anywhere in the world.
M-Shamba Digital is a smart farming agritech solution that integrates internet of things (IoT) technology in providing accurate and reliable soil/crop data to farmers in real time. Farmers then use this data to predict future harvest patterns and take necessary actions to maximize volumes. This technology further employs innovations around landless and vertical hydroponics farming techniques that allow for effortless water conservation by automated irrigation and recycling translating to use of only 5% of water necessary for crop growth while maintaining up to 20 times harvest volumes of food.
